The opened Agroprodmash exhibition unites all branches of the food industry.

Today at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds Agroprodmash 2020, the 25th Anniversary International Exhibition for Equipment, Technologies, Raw Materials and Ingredients for the Food Processing Industry, started.

Its preparation was held in difficult conditions due to the coronavirus pandemic. But the organisers managed to confirm the high international level, scale and representativeness of the exhibition and its supporting programme, while observing all the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor and sanitary and epidemiological safety measures.

According to the updated data on the opening day, 353 companies from 19 countries take part in Agroprodmash 2020: Belarus, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the USA.

90 companies are foreign participants. 263 exhibitors represent both Russian manufacturers and foreign dealers.

National pavilions were formed by Germany and Italy. The Germany pavilion unites 23 companies that demonstrate equipment for meat, poultry and fish processing, confectionery and bakery industry, for heat treatment, slicing, packaging, storage and much more.

The Italy national pavilion, organised by ICE/ITA, represents the Federation of Italian Associations of Mechanical and Engineering Industries (ANIMA), the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association (UCIMA) and 20 companies.

Producers from almost all regions of Russia occupy a worthy place at the exhibition. The latest domestic developments are presented by 173 exhibitors. Regional group stands of the Republic of Tatarstan, Altai, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krai, Vladimir, Voronezh, Kaluga, Moscow, Samara and Tver Regions are displayed at the exhibition.

Product sectors of Agroprodmash 2020 give a comprehensive picture of the current situation in the food processing industry, changes that have occurred and new trends in development. The exhibition stands cover the technological chain for all stages of production - from raw materials, ingredients, equipment to packaging, quality control, cooling and storage of food and beverages.

All these important distinctive features of the anniversary exhibition were marked at the official opening ceremony. The moderator was Sergey Bednov, General Director of EXPOCENTRE AO.

He noted that the exhibition is held at a difficult time for our country and other countries that have found themselves in a pandemic. But Agroprodmash 2020 took place and become the first EXPOCENTRE’s own exhibition held after a six-month break in the exhibition programme.

Sergey Bednov emphasised the importance of group stands of Russian regions, which demonstrate the latest domestic developments. The overall exposition also reflects the latest trends in the food processing industry, such as digitalisation and robotics. The exhibition presents the latest technology, software and also there will be a very interesting programme of supporting events, the head of EXPOCENTRE said. He wished all participants active work for the exhibition is a means of communication. There are, of course, online formats, but they will never replace live communication, live show at offline exhibitions, Sergey Bednov stated.   

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin called the opening of Agroprodmash 2020 an extraordinary event - it is both an anniversary and the first EXPOCENTRE's own exhibition after a break. EXPOCENTRE prepared it together with exhibitors, entrepreneurs, unions and associations, all those working in the field of food processing.

Participation in the exhibition of more than 250 Russian companies, which came with their new technologies and equipment, and their colleagues from other countries, is an opportunity to compare domestic developments with that of foreign partners. And the supporting programme of the exhibition will provide an opportunity to discuss various topics, including with legislators, because many issues that are not yet fully resolved today are related to the legal framework, the head of the Chamber said.

Sergey Katyrin expressed his special gratitude to the staff of EXPOCENTRE, who despite all the troubles related to COVID-19, were able to prepare, according to him, a very worthy exhibition.                   

The participants of Agroprodmash 2020 were warmly congratulated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Chuvash Republic Petr Chekmarev, Director of ICE Moscow Representative Office Francesco Pensabene, President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky, Executive Director of NP "National Union of Meat Processors" Ekaterina Luchkina, President of the Food Ingredients Producers Union Tatiana Savenkova.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, one of the landmark events for many exhibitors took place - the signing of a partnership agreement on information cooperation between the Russian Dairy Union and the federal information publication of Rosselkhoznadzor "Veterinary and Life".

The Agreement was signed by Lyudmila Manitskaya, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Dairy Union, and Julia Melano, Editor-in-Chief of the information portal and the newspaper "Veterinary and Life" and advisor to the Head of Rosselkhoznadzor.
