Agroprodmash 2018 shows developments of the global and Russian food processing industry

The 23rd edition of the Agroprodmash International Exhibition for Equipment, Technologies, Raw Materials and Ingredients for the Food Processing Industry has opened today, October 8th, at Expocentre Fairgrounds.    

Agroprodmash ranks in the top ten of Europe's leading food processing trade shows. According to the Russian National Exhibition Rating, confirmed by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, Agroprodmash is the Best Exhibition in Russia in all nominations in the Food Industry: Equipment and Ingredients category.

The show is held by Expocentre with support of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This year Agroprodmash has grown again to occupy more than 60,000 sq m. According to Deputy Director General of Expocentre Mikhail Tolkachev, "this year the show welcomes 870 companies from 37 countries." Belgium, China, Denmark, Germany and Italy present national pavilions. Russian regional pavilions are made by Chelyabinsk, Kirov, Stavropol, Tula, Tver, and Voronezh regions. 

The trade show's 19 salons give the full picture of the current state of 30 sectors of the food and food processing industry. They demonstrate all steps of food production from raw materials, ingredients and equipment to packaging, quality control, refrigeration and storage of foodstuffs and beverages. Each year, many of these salons increase number of exhibitors and innovative exhibits shown.   

Main topics of the associated events are digital technologies, lean manufacturing, branding, packaging marketing, and innovative technologies for fruit and vegetable processing, confectionery, bakery and fish industries. 

The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kashin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Andrey Razin, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dmitry Kurochkin, Deputy Director of the Department of Food and Food Processing Industry of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Vladimir Skvortsov, Chairman of the Committee on Development of the Agriculture Industry of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Viktor Semenov. All speakers talked about increase in agricultural productivity in Russia, development of many sectors of the Russian food processing industry, and the importance of Agroprodmash.

Agroprodmash 2018 will run from October 8 through 12.
