The project is aimed at minimizing counterfeit products showcased at exhibitions through providing consultations and clarifications regarding intellectual property.

A comprehensive supporting program covers all challenges of key sectors of the food processing industry. There will be held major international forums, congresses, conferences and seminars, numerous round tables, masterclasses, presentations, and professional competitions, said Sergey Bednov.

President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin made a welcome address and noted with appreciation that the number of Russian exhibitors increased. According to him, the products showcased by Russian companies, not only by agricultural producers but also processors and manufacturers of equipment, are as good as or even of higher quality than samples of foreign colleagues.

At the same time, the number of foreign partners does not decrease. It testifies to their interest in the Russian market. The number of the people interested in the exports of Russian products abroad is also growing. This is particularly true in the system of chambers of commerce and industry. More and more people come to the federal chamber and regional chambers to find out how they can export their products, where and what equipment they could buy to get access to export. Not only large companies but also medium-sized ones have great potential. 160 Russian exporting companies already participate in Agroprodmash 2017, emphasized Sergey Katyrin.

Other participants in the opening ceremony were Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues Vladimir Kashin, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environment Management Sergey Lisovsky, Director of Food and Food Processing Department of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Evgeny Akhpashev, and Rector of Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technologies and Management Valentina Ivanova.

The speakers said that the trade show brings together manufacturers of equipment and processors of agricultural products, contributes to the market development, exchange of experience and international cooperation, training of skilled personnel, provision of food security in Russia.
