09 / 10 / 2019

More than 600 participants, manufacturers of equipment for agro-industrial enterprises, food producers, retailers, officials, and businessmen gathered together at the Russian Business Forum on Strategic Challenges of Agribusiness 2020 at the Agroprodmash 2019 international exhibition at Expocentre Fairgrounds. It was organized by Expocentre AO and Imperia KVK.

The Forum speakers addressed a broad range of strategic issues such as development of the Russian agricultural market, dynamics of indicators and plans of manufacturers, consolidation of large agro-industrial enterprises, and tactical issues including a new product entry to the market, creation of new sales channels, and expansion of the existing ones.

INFOLine Information Agency General Director Ivan Fedyakov presented a development forecast for the agro-industrial market, according to which about 170 large-scale projects will be implemented in 2019-2022 to build and upgrade food and beverage industry facilities. "Total investment in these projects will exceed 850 billion rubles including investment in the production of food industry equipment. Most projects are being fulfilled in the Moscow and Lipetsk region. The Primorye Territory is leading in terms of investment in the food industry," the expert said

Institute of Globalization Problems Director Mikhail Delyagin told the audience about financial strategies of agro-industrial sector development for manufacturers.

Contact Expert President Grigory Trusov concluded from the research carried out by Begarat that "meat production will be a key industry to grow, develop, and use advanced production technologies. Meat producers will be implementing technologies faster than any other sector."

While analysing the strategy and tactics of agro-industrial companies' development, Retail4you Managing Partner Sergey Lischuk said that 40,000 new products enter the market every year, 1,200 of them generate 90% of the total money turnover, and 97% fail. "Before bringing the new product to the market, you should think whether the market and end buyers, who vote with their purse, need what you offer," the expert said.

Other speakers of the Forum were ManagementDevelopment Group Inc Managing Partner Dmitry Potapenko, Rosselkhozbank Department Director Oksana Gulyayeva, RBC TV financial analyst Vladimir Levchenko, Agroinvestor Magazine Chief Editor Nikolay Lychev, VVS General Director Zhanna Martynova, B2B Center Commercial Director Andrey Boiko, and other experts.
