All sectors of the food industry at Agroprodmash 2016

Today Expocentre Fairgrounds hosts the 21st edition of the international exhibition for equipment, machinery and ingredients for the food processing industry Agroprodmash 2016. It is Russia’s main show of achievements in the food industry which hits top ten European trade shows by its size and ROI.

This year 721 companies from 33 countries of Europe, Asia and America occupy the exhibition area of 61,000 sq m. Germany, India and China arrange their national pavilions.

The Agroprodmash 19 thematic salons put on display the latest equipment, innovative technologies and solutions for different sectors of the food industry for all steps of production from ingredients, raw materials processing and quality control to packaging, refrigeration and storage of food and beverages.

This year all salons show an upward trend and introduce new technological solutions and new participants. The Agroprodmash 2016 premiere was a new thematic salon – Rybpromresurs devoted to achievements and innovations in fishing, processing, packaging, supply, storage, transportation and sale of fish products. The Refrigeration Technologies Consultation Center is available at the trade show for the first time.

The industry experts note some extension of geography of Russian participants. More than 450 domestic companies demonstrate actual results of the whole country. They showcase equipment for processing meat and poultry, for production of dairy, ingredients, components, consumables, packaging materials and other novelties.

“The Agroprodmash key figures have increased,” stated with pleasure First Deputy Director of Expocentre Nikolay Gusev at the opening ceremony of the trade show.

“Today’s exhibition inspires our small farmers. We are particularly glad to welcome Russian companies at the show,” said Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues Vladimir Kashin at the show opening. He emphasized the importance of Agroprodmash for support of home manufacturers.

According to Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship Sergey Zhigarev, “this trade show is a wonderful platform for meeting and networking that is ultimately reflected on business performance and leads to effective economic results.”

Director of the Department of Food Processing Industries of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Evgeny Akhpashev read a welcome message from the Minister Alexander Tkachyov. “The trade show”, says the message, “enables the industry experts to learn about the latest achievements in technology, ingredients, refrigeration equipment, and quality control. It is particularly relevant and sought-after nowadays when it is necessary to implement new advanced technology for production of quality domestic food and extension of the product range.”

The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry places much emphasis on Agroprodmash since the food processing industry is a key element of Russia’s food security, said Director of the Department of Exhibition, Trade Fair and Congress Activities of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Igor Korotin. “This trade show brings benefit in a difficult geopolitical situation when Russian manufacturers face the challenge of import substitution,” he emphasized.

The participants in the Agroprodmash 2016 official opening were also Head of Department of Agriculture, Food, Construction and Road Engineering of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Evgeny Korchevoy, Deputy Head of the Federal Fishery Agency Pyotr Savchuk, Rector of Razumovskiy Moscow State University of Technologies and Management Valentina Ivanova, and President of the Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners Yury Katsnelson.

Agroprodmash 2016 is accompanied by a comprehensive event program. Among the key topics are the most relevant issues concerning development of the meat industry, innovative solutions in dairy, bakery and confectionery industries, in fruit and vegetable processing and the latest technology in fish processing. Government officials, businessmen and industry experts discuss practical solutions to such important issues as upgrading of food facilities, strengthening of the country’s food security, and competitive growth of Russia-made products.

Agroprodmash 2016 is organized and held by Expocentre and supported by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Federal Fishery Agency. The show runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Agroprodmash is open from October 10 through 14.
