The 19th edition of the International Exhibition for Machinery, Equipment and Ingredients for the Food Processing Industry – Agroprodmash 2014 – ran at Expocentre Fairgrounds from 6 to 10 October 2014. This one of the most important events for the Russian and international agriculture industry enjoyed considerable success.

This year the exhibition demonstrated accomplishments and new products for 30 sectors of the food and food processing industry, the whole process of food and beverage production – from raw materials, ingredients and equipment to packaging, logistics solutions and equality management.

This year the exhibition occupied over 22,000 net sq m. 762 participating companies came from 36 countries of Europe, Asia and America. China, Denmark and Germany had traditional national showcases. India had its national stand for the first time.

19,155 people visited the show.

Despite all the current economic and political difficulties Agroprodmash 2014 was a success. Moreover, it welcomed 61 new participants.

The executive branch of the Russian government pays a special attention to Agroprodmash as it contributes to production of quality products using quality equipment in this country. In his address to the organizers and participants in the exhibition Russian Minister of Agriculture Nikolay Fedorov notes that “bringing together equipment manufacturers and agricultural processing companies, the trade fair effectively promotes innovations to Russian agro-industrial companies.”

“The Agroprodmash trade show promotes the development of international contacts and cross-sectoral relations, encourages competitive growth of domestic industry, provides real opportunities to learn about state-of-the-art developments and discuss current trends in the development of production of machinery and equipment for the food processing industry,” said Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Andrey Dutov in his welcome address.

Sixteen theme salons presented the whole manufacturing cycle – from raw material processing to getting a finished packaged product. This year all salons and thematic areas demonstrated an upward trend.

The Salon of Equipment for Processing Meat, Poultry, Fish and Seafood, being a dominant of the exhibition for many years, presented ideas and innovations of about 190 leading global producers of equipment and technologies for meat, poultry and fish processing from 21 countries. The range of equipment covered all areas of the production of meat and sausage products from slaughter to packaging of finished products

The Salon of Ingredients, Additives and Spices brought together about 70 exhibitors from Austria, Belarus, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, and Uzbekistan. One of the key market trends, which dominated at this year’s salon, is natural ingredients, additives and functional mixes.

The Salon of Confectionery and Bakery Equipment accommodated 76 companies from China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Turkey, the UK, and the USA. The changed composition of participants can be attributed to the growth of the salon. Previously the majority of exhibitors were distributors; now most of them are manufacturers of confectionery and bakery equipment. The concept of participation is changing too. More and more companies prefer to demonstrate their equipment in operation.

A demand for packaged food, beverages and other everyday products is constantly growing, which has a positive effect on the market of packaging equipment and the growth of the Salon of Packaging Equipment and Materials for the Food Industry. This year it once again demonstrated the latest trends in production of labels, packaging, containers, closures and seals.

Other salons also were quite successful: Refrigeration Equipment; Equipment and Technologies for Liquid, Viscous and Spreadable Food Production; Equipment and Technologies for Dairy and Cheese Production; Bottling Equipment.

The Salon of Equipment for the Production and Processing of Fruit and Vegetables showcased new equipment.

An impressive number of Russian companies participated in the Agroprodmash-Complekt Salon. Other companies came from China, France, Italy, and other countries.

The project Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions, designed to reduce the number of counterfeit products showcased at trade shows, was once again realized at Agroprodmash 2014.

The programme of accompanying events was developed in response to the current situation in the Russian food and food processing industry, and on the domestic and international food markets.

This year there were several premiers such as the Conference on Poultry Industry 2.0/14. Poultry Breeding and Processing and the Conference on the Latest Technologies and Equipment for Fruit and Vegetable Processing.
