Meat congress participants discuss topic of the year

“We are trying to highlight topical issues at these annual congresses and dwell on the subjects vital to the meat industry,” Zakharov said in his opening remarks. “Today we will speak on electronic veterinarian certification. According to the new edition of the Law on Veterinary, all enterprises shall go electronic on January 1, 2018,” he said.

Since 1994, enterprises have been issued paper veterinarian certificates for a fee. There was no uniform tariff, and certificate fees differed from one region to another. Now certificates will be issued electronically and for free via the Mercury automated system of state veterinarian control.

Specialists told congress participants in detail about the electronic veterinarian certification activity of the Federal Veterinarian and Phytosanitary Control Service, and the operation of the Mercury automated system, and commented on the Law on Veterinary.
