AGROPRODMASH’2008: Territory of Innovations

The 13th International Exhibition - Agroprodmash’2008, held at Expocentre Fairgrounds on October 13-17, put on display the latest samples of equipment and machinery, the leading edge technology for the Russian food processing industry.

Agroprodmash’2008 has strengthened its position as the largest international exhibition of machinery and equipment for agribusiness in Russia and CIS countries with a high international reputation and rated among the largest European Agribusiness Exhibitions. The status of the most established industry exhibition in Russia is confirmed by the labels of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).

The 13th edition of Agroprodmash became a record-breaking event. The net show floor exceeded 24 000 sq.m. It hosted 753 companies from 32 countries. Germany, Italy, Russia, Finland and France showcased their national displays; the Taiwanese exhibitors arranged a collective display. The state support for the national displays testifies to the international recognition of the exhibition.

The Russian food and processing industry is still one of the main markets for large manufacturers and suppliers of specialist equipment and technology, particularly from Europe. The Russian display remained the largest at the show. There is a great demand for innovative technologies and modern equipment in the Russian booming market and the Agromprodmash Exhibition ensures that this demand is satisfied and plays the most important part in industry-leading changes. Agroprodmash is the only industry exhibition that features a wide scope of industry issues which enables companies to find optimal integrated solutions in response to the demands of the market in an intense competitive environment.

The principle of thematic grouping of the exhibition is built on presentation of every stage of food production and sale. Specialist salons put on display all sectors of the food processing industry and demonstrate a whole range of equipment for the agro-industrial complex. The thematic grouping has proved very successful allowing to cover various industry subjects and to incorporate new sections.

This year the exhibition launched a new salon – Ingredients, Additives and Spice – in a separate pavilion. The Salons of Meat Processing Equipment, Packing and Packaging Equipment, Equipment for Production of Liquid and Viscous Food and Beverages, Parts, Units and Materials, Production Automation enjoyed further development; the Refrigeration and Freezing Equipment Salonwidened its scope.

Agroprodmash’2008 saw the opening of the Career Centre designed to encourage the education and training of specialists for the domestic agro-industrial complex. Pavilion 1 hosted the Russian leading Higher Educational Institutions which showcased their specialist training programmes, researches and projects. The Food Industry Job Fair that was open during the exhibition helped specialists to get information on existing vacancies, and employers - to find employees. The Career Centre incorporated an international scientific and educational forum – Strategy of Staff Training For Small and Medium Food Processing Business.

Agroprodmash’2008 became a unique opportunity for professional exchange and interaction. The substantial programme of events comprised seminars, round tables, product presentations by the world’s leading manufacturers of equipment and materials for the food processing industry. One of the major events of the show was the 3rd Russian Technological Forum - Innovative Technologies and Equipment in the Food Processing Industry – organized by Imperia Company. The Forum brought together 400 delegates all of whom are leaders of the food processing industry. The Forum featured over 40 reports of directors, top managers and production engineers of the key agro-industry companies on the hottest issues.

Agroprodmash’2008 hosted the Russian Investment Forum – Encouragement of Investments to Agro-Industrial Complex: Promotion of Animal Husbandry and Its Products – which became a platform for effective interaction between representatives of the government, financial and agribusiness sectors. The Forum gave an opportunity to exchange information and establish contacts with prospect investors, and created a foundation for implementation of promising agroindustrial projects.

Great interest was exited by the Beverages-PRO conference featuring vodka distillation technologies, Russian traditions of distillation, classical and innovative methods of production of the Russian vodka at modern distilleries.

Additionally, the exhibition incorporated the Food Ingredients: Economics and Technology forum and the international competition for the Best Equipment for the Agro-Industrial Complex Award which marked the best machinery and equipment, the best technologies and ingredients for the food processing industry.

This year the specialist attendance of Agroprodmash’2008 made up about 16 500 visitors which equals to 95% of the total visitor attendance. The figure testifies to the fact that Agroprodmash remains the key industry event that is awaited by specialists of all agribusiness enterprises.
